Jack Hanna - Guest Speaker at the Zoo's Call of the Wild Fundraising Event

Jack Hanna, World-Renowned Conservationist and Past Director of the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens Returned Home to His Roots as the Guest Speaker at the Zoo's Call of the Wild Fundraising Event

Sanford, Florida (May 8, 2012) - Jack Hanna, world-renowned conservationist and past director of the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens hosted a private fundraiser, The Call of the Wild, at the Zoo on April 25, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to raise funds for the Zoo’s future Indian rhinoceros exhibit.

The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is a 116-acre private, nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and to engaging and educating our guests by sharing knowledge and celebrating our natural world. About Jack Hanna –

Jack Hanna, Director Emeritus of the Columbus Zoo is world-renowned and has traveled the world learning about the Earth’s vast and awe-inspiring creatures. Throughout the years he has seen the “wild” shrink - virtually all animals are experiencing some sort of challenge due to habitat loss or environmental change. Jack began his career at the Sanford Zoo in Sanford, Florida in 1973. He worked at the Central Florida Zoo from 1973 until 1975. In 1978, he was named director of the Columbus Zoo.
