Did you know that bees aren’t the only pollinators? Birds, butterflies, bats—even giraffes—play a role in keeping our ecosystems thriving!

Join us for Celebrate Pollinators Day, a fun-filled festival that’s all about the unsung heroes of nature. You’ll enjoy interactive stations, creative crafts, and educational games for the whole family—all while discovering how YOU can make a difference for pollinators in your own backyard.

🐝 What’s Happening:

• Celebrating Pollinators Day – Get a free bookmark here to complete the scavenger hunt through the activity stations. – Solar Panels in front of the Wayne Densch Discovery Center
• Planting for Pollinators – Buy native seed packets and pledge to build a pollinator-friendly garden. Decorate a pollinator cutout to display! – In front of Graze
• Spot the Giraffe & Measure Up to Gage – Add spots to a life-size giraffe, check out cool biofacts, and see how you “measure up” to a giraffe’s 18-inch tongue! – Near the Playground
• Birds, Bees, and Beyond – Use the iNaturalist app in our “Birds, Bees, and Beyond” scavenger hunt and explore how unexpected animals help pollinate. – Near Lemurs
• Funds for Conservation Activity (proceeds going to Giraffe Conservation Foundation) – Meet the keepers, enter a raffle to win a private experience with our giraffe, purchase animal paintings, and decorate enrichment for Gage! – Table at the Giraffe Habitat

• Schedule of Events:
  • 10:00 am-2:30 pm – Funds for Conservation Activity – Giraffe Habitat
  • 11:00 am – Wreathed Hornbill Chat – Wreathed Hornbill Habitat
  • 11:30 am – Garden Tour with our Horticulture Staff – Meet in the Wayne Densch Discovery Center
  • 1:00 pm – Red Ruffed Lemur Chat – Red Ruffed Lemur Habitat
  • 1:30 pm – Garden Tour with our Horticulture Staff – Meet in the Wayne Densch Discovery Center
  • 2:00 pm – Giraff Enrichment Drop – Giraffe Habitat

🎁 All activities are included with general Zoo admission. Some stations include optional purchases (like seed packets and buttons) that help support our conservation efforts.
