Help us celebrate the magnificent Eastern Indigo snake at the 4th Annual Indigo Blues BBQ, taking place on Saturday, February 8th from 9AM-4PM.
This fun-filled event day at the Zoo will feature two live music sets from local favorite musicians, The Smoking Jackets, a BBQ tasting trail available for pre-purchase, a behind the scenes look from the Zoo’s Orianne Center for Indigo Conservation (OCIC), reptile presentations from our expert Keeper staff, and so much more!
Bring extra donation money for the charity raffle & 50/50 drawings, shop some of the art created right here by our own Zoo animals, and check out even more unique opportunities to help us raise money to raise awareness and support conservation of this incredible species.
During the day, you’ll also learn more about our ongoing hands-on conservation efforts for the Eastern indigo snake, including our breed & release program to bring this powerful symbol back to the American southeast’s longleaf pine ecosystems. We’ll also be highlighting the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) Saving Animals From Extinction (SAFE) programs.
*$2 from each ticket sold will benefit the conservation efforts at OCIC.
* Please note that the Splash Ground will be closed for live music performances
