5 ways you can get involved at the Zoo in Orlando

If you’re an animal lover, you might wonder, “How can I get involved at a Zoo in Orlando?” At the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens—Orlando’s closest Zoo—we’re here to help! As part of the Zoo’s mission to inspire people to take action for wildlife, there are several ways you can get involved and make a difference.

If you’re passionate about animals and want to make a meaningful impact, here are five ways you can get involved at the Zoo in Orlando.

Volunteer

Volunteering at the Sanford Zoo is a rewarding way to contribute to the care of animals and lend a helping hand. The Zoo offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, making it easy to find the perfect fit for you.

Kids as young as 13 can join our Teen Team, where they can learn more about wildlife while gaining valuable skills and hands-on training. Our Bright Futures volunteer program is a fun way for high school students to complete their hours.

For adults, we offer several ways to volunteer, including a Zoo Interpreter program, a Docent program and our Zoo Crew, each with different responsibilities and commitments to fit a variety of skills and schedules.

Is your organization looking for a way to give back? We also offer groups and corporate entities ways to volunteer. For offsite adventures, volunteers 18 and older can lend their services to the Orianne Center for Indigo Conservation in Lake County to work with snake conservation.

Adopt an animal

Love one of our animals? We offer a way for you to symbolically adopt an animal and be part of its care with adoption packages. The proceeds from the adoption contribute to feeding and caring for your animal, as well as enrichment. It’s a great gift idea, and these meaningful and rewarding presents help preserve our wildlife and give back to the Zoo. We also offer ways to create a long-lasting legacy with tribute and memorial gifts. It’s a thoughtful way to honor a special occasion or commemorate a loved one.

Get an Annual Pass

With our Annual Pass, not only can you and your family enjoy visiting the best Zoo in Florida any time, but you can also help make a difference in supporting our mission. Plus, with your Annual Pass, you’ll enjoy special perks, including being first in line for tickets to special events, getting a variety of great discounts, and receiving some reciprocal benefits at other arts and culture facilities.

Partner

Becoming a Zoo partner is a great way for your company to gain year-round recognition and greater public awareness. There are many ways to sponsor the Zoo, like special events, community outreach, education programs, conservation initiatives, and habitat or exhibit sponsorships. Sponsorship opportunities can help your company build brand awareness and loyalty while also giving back to the community.  Interested in sponsoring a Zoo habitat? Donate

As a nonprofit organization, the Zoo relies on individuals like you to get involved and help us continue our mission. Every time you purchase a ticket you make a difference, but your donations are also important. Your financial support helps when it comes to funding programming, creating learning opportunities, caring for our animals and spreading our conservation message. These tax-deductible donations directly support our efforts to feed, care for and protect our planet’s animals while educating our guests.

There’s a way for everyone to make a difference, be part of our Zoo team and learn something, too! Ready to get involved? You can learn more about all the ways you can help and start making a difference here. We’re proud to serve as your Orlando Zoo here in Sanford, and we look forward to working with you to continue our mission.
