Cheap things to do in Orlando with kids

Living in Orlando means two things. First, there is always something to do or somewhere to go. Second, it can get expensive. To all of the parents out there, we know finding things to do in Orlando with kids that won’t break your bank is important.

Luckily, Central Florida has tons of cheap fun family activities if you look in the right places. From soaring amongst the trees and bouncing on trampolines to learning about science and animals, there’s a wide range of activities for any interest.

Here are a few of our favorite Orlando activities for kids that hit at just about $20.

Seminole Aerial Adventures

For the thrill-seeking families, why not fly high at the Central Florida Zoo’s Seminole Aerial Adventures? You can let the kids get in touch with their inner bird and see nature from high up at this zipline and ropes course.

If the kids are up to the challenge, they’ll travel tree-to-tree using various elements that engage the mind and body. Seminole Aerial Adventures offers a Kids Course for those 5 and up who are 36” to 60”, as well as higher, harder options for the kids and adults who are 54” and up.

Open 7 days a week, the Kids Course is just $21.95 on the weekend—or save some money and only pay $17.95 for visiting on the week days.

Orlando Science Center

Got a kiddo who’s into STEM? Let them be a scientist for the day at the Orlando Science Center. You can visit a variety of exhibits featuring hands-on science experiences that combine fun and education. Plus, there are always a variety of special events and experiences to check out.

Children ages 2-11 can visit for only $18, and adults get in for $24.

Visit an arcade

Maybe you remember visiting the arcades of your youth and you’re ready to share the experience with your kids. The best part about an arcade? You can get hours of entertainment, and you control the amount you spend.

There are several great options in the Central Florida area. Zoo friend Elev8 Fun is just down the street in Sanford. Or, head to Arcade Monsters in Oviedo. They offer $19.99 for unlimited play per person or $18.99 per person with the family discount.

Enjoy the springs

Ready to get outside? A super cheap family fun option unique to Central Florida is a visit to the springs!

The springs are the original Florida attractions for tourists, and there are plenty to choose from in North Orlando. Wekiwa Springs State Park offers a gorgeous natural swimming hole with all day fun for only $6 per vehicle. Grab your floats and pack a picnic to make it a day!

Or, head a little further and check out Blue Springs State Park or De Leon Springs State Park. There’s nothing like a day in nature.

Head to a trampoline park

Ready for a different kind of park? When you’re looking for things to do in Florida with kids, stopping by a local jump park is a great way to get active while staying indoors, away from the Florida heat.

Rebounderz is one option, where you can bounce around from the ninja warrior course to Xtreme dodgeball or from the foam pit to climbing walls. Pricing ranges from about $20 for an hour of fun to about $30 for all-day admission.

Go bowling

Another great option for getting out of the heat while still having some family fun is to hit your local bowling lane. With bumpers and ramps available, bowling can be a great activity adaptable for all age levels. Plus, what’s more fun than challenging each other to a little competition or cheering each other on when you finally get that strike?

Elev8 Fun offers bowling, or in Sanford, there’s the always-popular Airport Lanes. Any bowling alley near you should fit the bill while keeping the fun affordable.

Visit the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens

If you really want to have a WILD time, pay us a visit at the Central Florida Zoo. With more than 300 animals from tiny creepy crawlies to big black bears and towering giraffes, we promise—this is a day the entire family will remember. Plus, your regular admission allows you entry to the Wharton-Smith Tropical Splash Ground, so it’s like a two-for-one day of fun!

You can also save money by purchasing tickets online, where prices range from only $13.95 for kids 3-12 during non-peak times up to just $21.95 for adults on peak days.

For an additional $4, get the opportunity to feed the animals at the Barnyard Buddies Children’s Petting Zoo or let the giraffes get a bite for $5! Don’t forget your camera.

So, which Orlando attractions are you visiting? At the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens, we’re proud to offer amazing experiences that are memorable and accessible for all. And, we hope to see you soon!
